Nothing is synonymous with adventure like a remote fly-in wilderness camping trip. Trout Lake is big with hundreds of islands, points and bays with lots of really nice places to camp. You can set up camp where ever you want or you can stay on a spot where other people have camped before.
You have the choice to be outfitted with our canoes and then paddle out into the wilderness or you may rent a motor boat, which is better if you want to explore a wide area. Please remember to be safe as there are lots of rocks and shoals in the lake.
There are many activities while camping such as fishing, bird watching, rockhounding, swimming, hiking, canoeing and wildlife photography. You can explore the Trout Lake Moraine or just sit and relax.
Trout Lake is not a provincial park but due to the Trout Lake Moraine, it is considered a wildlife sanctuary and the following laws still apply.
No glass or cans can be taken camping. Reusable containers like cooking pots can be used. All your food and drink should be stored in plastic containers.
If you do not camp at a maintained site with an outhouse, you must burn or bury your feces and toilet paper at least 12 inches under the surface.
You can not posses any firearms, which includes bows, guns or pellet gun.
Non-residents of Ontario need to purchase a camping permit.
All fires have to be in a fire pit, surrounded by rocks and a safe distance from any bushes or trees.
Fires must be heavily doused with water at the end of the evening or when leaving.
All non-burnable garbage must be packed out with you. All burnable garbage, not including plastic, must be burned.
These rules above are common sense and will not impeed your fun or adventure.
